Santa Monica Stories - Open

Posted by admin On March - 15 - 2010

The Show Open is created for a History Channel style interview show about Santa Monica. The Photos are old scans from the Santa Monica Library archives. PHOTOS The photos are put through advance color correction process leaving each photo with a ultra unique tone and value. All pieces where originally merged flat with the image. The photo pieces are cut with the pen tool in Photoshop to create vector shapes. The cut pieces where hidden as layers and the blank hole in the photo is reconstructed with various clone and several other techniques in Photoshop. ANIMATION The cut shapes and color corrected images are imported into After Effects as a composition PSD. The imported PSD layers are set as 3D mode. The entire piece is given several depth of field maps and blurs. Each photo is animated in 3D space by hand and given a 3D camera move. The flashes are opacity and fill key frames. Overall After Effects is used for the final composition. The audio is a Megatrax title edited in Premiere. The Final edit and output is executed in Premiere.
